AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF INDIANOLA, MISSISSIPPI TO PURCHASE RADAR SPEED DETECTION EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF SPEED LIMITS ON THE FEDERALLY DESIGNATED HIGHWAYS INSIDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SUCH MUNICIPALITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Indianola, Mississippi may expend out of any available funds of the city, an amount that the governing authorities determine is sufficient for the purchase of and use by the police department of the city of radar speed detection equipment. If the governing authorities authorize the expenditure of funds for such purpose, then the duly sworn police officer of the city may operate and use such equipment to enforce the motor vehicle speed limits on any federally designated highway within the corporate limits of the City of Indianola.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
